Who We Are

Lacey's was started in 1999 with only two generic lucky packets. First deliveries to customers were made in the year 2000. From the early stages we identified the importance of Licensing, specifically to children's products. In 2000, negotiations started with Mattel and product was developed. Marvel product soon followed and then Disney in 2002. Lacey's is in the business of bringing quality product to the market across the core segment's it participates in. Lacey's has always put its consumer first to ensure that our products meet their exacting standards and are unwilling to compromise in this area. We represent world category leading vendors in their field of speciality.

Lacey's strives to take best practises from all its vendors and implement them in its markets. Our Management team has over 25 years' experience of bringing product to the South African and African market, with strong retail relationships and a well-connected sourcing network world-wide. Lacey's has also successfully exported product to Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, Kenya, Zambia, Ghana, Madagascar, Mauritius's, France, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

The rest is history as they say, and to date Lacey's has developed, manufactured and distributed many different product category's.

Our Culture

Lacey's has a Culture that we believe is unique to the business. The basis of this Culture is fairness, which is applied to every staff member and in every aspect of the business. The company believes in every single staff member in their employ, and is always looking at ways to develop the staff. Lacey's strives to enhance their employees lives and maintain an environment that everybody is excited to be part of. Lacey's likes to maintain a balance, and believes that your day should consist of three parts, namely: 8 hours to work, 8 hours time for yourself and family and 8 hours to sleep. The belief is that if you give 100% in each of these segments all parts of your life will be in perfect harmony. This principle contributes to the overall aim of maintaining a happy work environment.

We bridge the gap between international trends, consumer wants and the retailer's strategies. With vast experience in sourcing, marketing and key accounts we offer the retailer a knowledgeable understanding of what the consumer requires and tailor the requirements to each retailer.

Our Vision

Lacey's has a very positive and aggressive outlook on consumer spend in Africa over the next 10 years. Our strategy is to grow and have significant market share and influence in the categories in which we participate. Our aim is to be true to its strategy and objective to remain a focused business in the areas that it participates. We strive to invest in the personnel, infrastructure and brands it represents, in order to build a strong corporate brand with retailers and consumers. Our goal is to build strategic and transparent relationships with our principles and customers.

Our Mission

Target the retailers with the right products to suit their target audience and in line with their strategies. Target retail price points that the consumer will feel is reasonable and relevant to the product sourced and that is relevant to the market at the time. Ensuring that at all times the quality is to international standards.

Quality Control

Every product that we bring into the market or manufactured must follow the European standards and has to pass the all tests required for that category. All products that are self-developed product, are sent to an independent testing company for review and assessment prior to any commitment being given to manufacture. We also carry out pre-shipment inspections via our Hong Kong office on all self-developed product.
